Gemini Code Assist
AI coding assistant for IDE and cloud development
- Coding & development · editorial fit

Overview
Gemini Code Assist provides AI coding help and agents across the software lifecycle, from completion and chat in an IDE to cross-file changes, reviews, upgrades, and tool-driven project work. Gemini CLI extends the workflow to an open-source terminal agent with project context, MCP tools, and human approval checkpoints.
Business and enterprise editions connect the assistant to Google Cloud services and organizational controls, including private-codebase customization, IAM and VPC controls, citations, and IP indemnification. The product also surfaces specialized workflows for Firebase, BigQuery, Apigee, Application Integration, and Cloud Assist.
