Overview
Typilot is a desktop transcription and writing assistant that processes podcast recordings locally on macOS, Windows, and Linux. It uses local speech recognition for transcripts and can run local commands for summaries, show notes, timestamps, rewriting, and translation.
Because the recording stays on the computer, the workflow suits interviews and unpublished material that should not be uploaded to a transcription service. Typilot is paid monthly or through a lifetime license after a three-day full-feature no-card trial.
Supported use cases
Transcribe a private interview
Process sensitive audio without sending the recording to a cloud transcription service.
Draft episode notes
Create a summary, outline, and timestamps from a local transcript.
Translate spoken content
Generate a translated version of recorded speech from the desktop workflow.
Limitations
It is a single-user production helper
Typilot does not replace a multitrack audio editor, hosted collaboration workspace, or publishing platform.
Key capabilities
Local transcription
Transcribes recordings on the user’s computer with speaker diarization support.
Podcast writing commands
Creates summaries, show notes, timestamps, rewrites, and translations from transcripts.
Cross-platform desktop delivery
Runs as a desktop application on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
