Dify
Application development platform for LLM workflows and agents
- Automation & agents · editorial fit

Overview
Dify is a platform for building, testing, publishing, and operating generative-AI applications. Its visual studio combines models, workflows, agents, retrieval over knowledge, tools, triggers, logs, and deployment as a web app, embed, API, or MCP server.
Dify Cloud has a limited free Sandbox and paid workspace plans, while the Community edition can be self-hosted from the public repository under the Dify Open Source License. Enterprise self-hosting and associated controls use commercial terms.
Supported use cases
Build a retrieval assistant
Attach a document collection, configure retrieval, and publish a question-answering app.
Orchestrate an AI workflow
Combine model calls, tools, conditions, and triggers in a repeatable process.
Self-host an AI application platform
Run the Community edition on controlled infrastructure when its license fits the intended use.
Limitations
Cloud quotas vary by tier
The Sandbox limits applications, members, documents, storage, triggers, logs, message credits, and API requests.
Community uses a project-specific license
The Community edition follows the Dify Open Source License rather than an unqualified permissive license; Enterprise features require commercial authorization.
