Langflow
Visual development environment for AI workflows and agents
- Automation & agents · editorial fit

Overview
Langflow is a visual framework for building and serving AI agents and retrieval workflows. Developers connect models, prompts, tools, data sources, memory, and control-flow components on a canvas, inspect execution, and expose the resulting flow through an API or application.
The core Langflow project is available from its official public repository under the MIT license. Operating a deployment still requires infrastructure and any model, database, or external-service credentials used by the flow.
Supported use cases
Prototype a retrieval workflow
Connect a model to documents or a vector store and test the resulting answers.
Build a tool-using agent
Define the tools and control flow an agent can use for a bounded task.
Serve a visual prototype through an API
Turn a tested canvas flow into a callable backend for another application.
Limitations
Bring the surrounding services
Model inference, databases, external APIs, hosting, and their costs are separate from the open-source framework.
Key capabilities
Visual flow construction
Builds agent and RAG graphs from connected components on a canvas.
Model and tool composition
Combines supported models, prompts, tools, memory, and external data services.
Execution inspection
Lets developers run, inspect, and debug flows while iterating.
API serving
Exposes a completed flow so another application can invoke it programmatically.
