Power BI Copilot
AI assistance for Power BI analytics
- Data & analytics · editorial fit
Overview
Power BI Copilot is a set of generative AI experiences in Microsoft Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service. It helps report creators build or edit report pages and DAX, while report consumers can ask questions, summarize reports, and analyze governed semantic models through chat-based experiences.
Copilot runs inside an organization’s Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment rather than as a standalone analytics subscription. Access depends on paid organizational capacity, tenant settings, supported regions, and the user’s permissions on the workspace, report, app, or semantic model.

Ask for the main findings in a report and follow up on the underlying data.
Draft a report page

Limitations
Paid capacity required
Copilot requires eligible paid Fabric capacity or Power BI Premium capacity; free SKUs and trial capacities are not supported.
